Game Day 2017: Edmonton's Largest 24-Hour Gaming Marathon

  • 10423 101 Street Northwest Edmonton, AB, T5H 2R8 Canada (map)

We are excited to announce our venue for our 6th annual 24-hour gaming marathon: Qualico Commercial has generously donated space in Epcor Tower, the tallest building in Edmonton!

To attend Game Day you must follow all of these 3 steps:
1. Be fundraising for the Stollery Children's Hospital. We hope that you join our team at extra-life.org/team/extralifeedmonton!

2. Register for Game Day tickets through Eventbrite athttps://goo.gl/n5PdSh. You are responsible for your own Eventbrite registration and must have an Eventbrite ticket in order to attend.

3. Fundraise at least $75USD under your own Extra Life profile before October 14, 2017 at 11:59PM in order to secure your ticket. After October 14, 2017 all new Eventbrite registrations will be subject to audit for compliance to this rule - get in touch with us if you have questions!

Wondering what to expect?:
- An amazing hang out (think giant LAN party!) with 200+ gamers like you
- Games, prizes, shenanigans, incentives, and more
- Excellent Telus Fibre internet speeds for great gaming and streaming
- Surround windows with beautiful views of the downtown skyline from the 16th floor
- Private washrooms and facilities
- Free parking
- We provide: tables and chairs, access to internet (hardwired), WiFi, and power
- Bring yourself, your gaming equipment (anything like TVs, consoles, computer, etc.; no TVs over 40 inches; you must have a surge protected powerbar), and your spirit!
- We may have a board game library available
- You'll be expected to set up and tear down your own equipment
- Feeling good about helping sick and injured kids by raising money for the Stollery Children's Hospital!

Gamers from other Extra Life teams can attend as long as you are raising money for the Stollery. However, we encourage you to join our team as that helps us assess the impact of our event and attract supporters that keep our event going. As a whole, having a big event of active, passionate attendees helps us make the news and drive city-wide fundraising!

--------------

A reminder that as in previous years, we are instituting a fundraising minimum in order to secure your Event Brite ticket at Game Day. Ensure that you have raised $75USD on your own Extra Life profile by October 14, 2017 at 11:59PM to guarantee your registration. Our organizing team will check Extra Life profiles then and contact you if your Game Day registration is not confirmed due to not meeting the minimum. Let's raise as much money as we can for the kids!
You'll be pleased to note that once you have raised $75USD on your Extra Life profile, you are eligible for the exclusive, hand made, wooden Extra Life phone case from Carved for $10! More info at https://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=cms.page&id=1088

Extra Life Edmonton is a team that participates annually in Extra Life's 24-hour marathon. Our team and community is constantly growing, and we'd love to have you! We are led by participant volunteer organizing members - or a "guild". So, our events are by participants, for participants! Extra Life the company is not involved in planning our events, so they are not associated with any details, including the fundraising minimum.

We in no way manage, collect, or retain the funds raised through Extra Life pages - they as an organization with the Children's Miracle Network handle all of the fund distribution to the hospitals. 100% of the money raised through Extra Life goes directly to the hospital. This also means that any cash donations sent to them are not processed through us - sorry, Extra Life Edmonton cannot process cash donations on your behalf. All questions related to Extra Life account management should be directed to their support team at extra-life.org.

Our brand new website redesign launches at yegextralife.org on October 1, 2017 just in time to be your hub for Game Day day-of information. That includes our schedule when it is finalized, FAQs, amenities info, programming, and more. We’ll still post on social media when there have been any significant updates!
For those of you who haven't attended before, in the past we have offered delicious food, coffee, tournaments, board games, and community activities. You will have the chance to network with other gamers as much or as little as you like. This year we have a lot of fun up our sleeves, and amazing supporters to help make it happen.
